M.S. in Biostatistics

Program Timing
Full-time students may begin their M.S. in Biostatistics in the Fall - the Fall term begins in late August (full-time is 4 classes per semester.  Part-time students may begin in the Spring term which begins in mid-January (3 classes per semester).  

Application Deadlines
The application deadlines are as follows:

  • Fall Term: August 1
  • Spring Term: December 1

Apply through SOPHAS (The centralized application service for Schools of Public Health). Begin the online application process.

Application Requirements
The following materials are required to complete your application, and must be submitted through SOPHAS:

  • Application:  Submit your application and application fee by the appropriate deadline. The centralized application service, SOPHAS, will instruct you on submitting recommendations and other required documents.
  • Transcript(s) of undergraduate (post-secondary) course work:  All applicants for the M.S. in Biostatistics must hold a baccalaureate degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited college or university.
    • Quantitative courses in algebra, mathematics, statistics, or research methods are recommended.
  • Two (2) Recommendations 
  • Personal statement
  • Resume

The GRE is NOT required

An interview may be required if the department or faculty have additional questions or concerns.
