Jason Xenakis - Master of Public Health in Health Policy and Management

  Jason Xenakis

“Since a very young age I had an entrepreneurial spirit and became a small business owner after high school. Throughout medical school I gained a great deal of clinical knowledge, but maintained an interest in the management and operations of the health organization I worked within. After medical school I started the Masters of Public Health program in Health Policy and Management and have not looked back. My desire for a career within the business side of healthcare delivery has been confirmed. New York Medical College has been an incredible all-encompassing institution. The faculty is approachable and resources are up to date and accessible. The relationship between the NYMC School of Health Sciences and outside internship opportunities are plentiful allowing students to engage in virtually any type of health organization they want. I was able to truly find myself and discover where my skill set could be utilized."

Jason Xenakis, M.D. '16, obtained his medical degree from NYMC School of Medicine and is now currently receiving his Masters of Public Health (M.P.H) with a concentration in Health Policy and Management from NYMC School of Health Sciences and Practice & Institute of Public Health. He also serves as the Liaison to the Medical School for the Student Healthcare Executive Club at NYMC. Jason has had the opportunity to work on several projects such as the “Watson” project with IBM and a Patient Centered Medical Home transformation at the Westchester Institute For Human Development.
