Koua Her - Master of Public Health in Behavioral Health Science

  Koua Her

“I was born in Thailand but grew up in Minnesota. I recently moved to New York to attend New York Medical College, because I wanted a change of atmosphere and thought NYMC would give me the perfect opportunity to expose myself to a diverse group of individuals. The College has students, staff, and faculty from different backgrounds. I want to travel abroad one day to work and serve the adult population. I am intrigued by diseases such as dementia, and Alzheimer’s. I hope to learn as much as possible about aging development and Mental Health at NYMC.”

Koua Her is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Health (M.P.H.) degree at NYMC School of Health Sciences and Practice with a concentration in Behavioral Health Science through his second Gates scholarship. He also received a scholarship in high school from Gates Millennium Scholars when he was one of two students chosen at his high school to receive the award. The Gates Millennium scholarship is provided to 1,000 of the best and brightest students nationally each year to pay for their college education.
