Thomas Peer

Masters of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology Program

“I really love the multidisciplinary approach to public health and how it incorporates many fields into one. I find the field of epidemiology very fascinating due to the ground work, problem solving, and global emphasis that it offers. Currently, I work as a student assistant in the Epidemiology Department of NYMC School of Health Sciences and Practice & Institute of Public Health. The staff is friendly, and I have the opportunity to meet prominent faculty in the department. It's amazing to be able to interact with them and pick their brains about public health while also obtaining guidance about my career. New York Medical College has a small school feel, small class sizes, and offers me the opportunity to interact with my professors whenever I want. I love the interesting elective coursework and the design of the curriculum, especially the practicum and capstone project. I also love the fact that the campus is very close to New York City."

- Born and raised in Rochester, N.Y., Thomas Peer is currently pursuing his Masters of Public Health with a concentration in Epidemiology. Thomas plans to work for the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) as an epidemiologist one day.
