Search for the Dean of the NYMC School of Medicine

The committee invites applications and nominations for the position of the dean of the School of Medicine of New York Medical College (NYMC). We seek a knowledgeable leader with a national reputation and a record of outstanding accomplishments who will be able to identify with the mission of NYMC to provide leadership and excellence in education, research and clinical care.

The dean will work closely with department chairs, faculty, students and other constituents to lead, support, and sustain the School’s vision, philosophy, and mission as it relates to our academic and research goals. In addition to a long and distinguished tradition in undergraduate medical education, the School of Medicine operates more than 55 graduate medical education programs. Our notable faculty has an enviable record of publications in the peer-reviewed scientific literature and external grant funding.

The successful candidate for dean should have an M.D. degree and be an experienced researcher, teacher and academic administrator as well as be committed to the conservation and dissemination of knowledge about the causes, prevention and treatment of human disease and disability. This candidate should possess a commitment to medical education, research excellence, scholarship, and; have a proven record of administrative leadership, attracting and hiring a talented and diverse faculty, a strong commitment to diversity in leadership and the ability to work with a varied group of educators and stakeholders.
