ONLINE COURSE ON HEALTH REFORM October 1 - October 26, 2012 This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the market for health care goods and services to assist students and working professionals as they consider the debate surrounding healthcare reform and its implications in our lives. We will cover the fundamentals of health economic analysis including the supply and demand for goods and services, consumer behavior, and the potential impact of reform on costs, access, quality and disparities in health care. Insightful readings by economists, political scientists, healthcare journalists and policymakers, along with numerous resources such as websites, blogs and archived reports, will provide a deeper understanding of the issues. Additionally, the course will include an online forum where participants can exchange ideas and live chats with the instructors The course is divided into four self-paced learning modules, set up as pre-recorded lectures and interactive multimedia presentations delivered online and available for registered participants to watch at their convenience. MANAGING HEALTH CARE IN THE NEW ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT GET CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS for this online distance education course for multidisciplinary health care practitioners that provides an introduction to basic concepts of managing health care. Managing health care and the associated consequences are dominating contemporary health and mental health care for insurers, provider organizations, consumers, and practitioners.
