Speech-Language Pathology - The Clinical Experience
Students integrate academic knowledge and clinical skills. The learning experience is an interactive process involving the patient, the student, and the clinical instructor. Clinical education helps to develop professional skills and a working knowledge of the current health care environment.
Essential features:
- Minimum 375 hours of direct clinical contact at on-site and off-site facilities.
- Placements at off-site facilities occur in the summer, fall, and spring of the second year of study.
- 17 on-campus clinical educators.
- More than 80 off-campus clinical sites, including acute-care hospitals, out-patient clinics, rehabilitation hospitals, and other types of long-term-care institutions and pediatric facilities.
