2008 Dean's Research Award
The 2008 Dean’s Research Award was presented to Dr. Wen-Hui Wang, Professor of Pharmacology, on Thursday January 22, 2009 in the Nevins Auditorium of the Medical Education Center. Dr. Wang has made significant contributions to the study of cytochrome P450-derived products of arachidonic acid metabolism and their role in the regulation of sodium and potassium channel activity in the kidney. His research is critical to understanding the complex processes controlling the volume and composition of body fluids and provides new insights into the mechanisms of salt-sensitive hypertension. Dr. Wang delivered a lecture entitled, "Role of CYP Epoxygenase in Renal Na and K Handling." A reception honoring Dr. Wang was held following the lecture.
