Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health

The new chapter of Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health at the NYMC School of Health Sciences and Practice (SHSP), Delta Alpha, inducted its first members at the SHSP Awards Reception during Commencement week. Induction of student, faculty, alumni and honorary members into Delta Omega is based on meeting high academic standards and demonstrating outstanding performance in scholarship, teaching, research and community service.

Founded in 1924, at Johns Hopkins University in the School of Hygiene and Public Health (now known as the Bloomberg School of Public Health) Delta Omega is a national honor society whose mission is to encourage research and scholarship among graduate students of public health and to recognize attainment and achievement in the field of public health. With more than 84 chapters throughout the world and more than 15,000 members, Delta Omega is dedicated to ensuring the quality of the public health field and to the protection and advancement of the health of all people.
