2020-2021 First Year Registration

Welcome to the first year of medical school! 

As we prepare for your transition to medical school, all students must first self-register for the year.  Registration is open June 1st – July 6th  You should have already received an email from the Admissions Office about how to log in to the TouroOne Portal and establish your NYMC email account.  For logging in and account questions, please contact the helpdesk.

The TouroOne Portal will be your online hub as an NYMC student, linking you to your email account, student services (online registration, payment, financial aid), and academic resources (course content within the LCMS+ learning management system, library resources), and much more.

Prior to the start of class, please complete the following requirements.

1) Register for Classes > June 1, 2020 – July 6, 2020

    1. Log in to the TouroOne Portal
    2. Click the Registration on left blue side bar
    3. Click Add/Drop Classes.  (This will open as a new tab in your browser.)
    4. Select Fall 2020
    5. In the Add Classes Worksheet, type the following CRNs (course reference numbers) into the boxes.  You must put in all of them at once.
      • 12667: Transition to Medical School
      • 12668: Gross Anatomy & Embryology
      • 12669: Histology & Cell Biology
      • 12670: Foundations in Clinical Medicine 1A
      • 12671: Biomedical Ethics 1A
      • 12820: Biochemistry & Molecular Biology 1A
      • 12821: Medical Physiology 1A
      • 12822: Health Systems- Intersession 
    1. Click Submit Changes.
    2. The screen will refresh and you’ll now see these courses under “Current Schedule” 
    3. Close the current browser tab and click again on Add/Drop Classes
    4. Select Spring 2021
    5. In the Add Classes Worksheet, type in ALL of the following CRNs.
      • 10209: Behavioral Science
      • 10210: Biochemistry & Molecular Biology 1B
      • 10211: Biomedical Ethics 1B
      • 10212: Foundations in Clinical Medicine 1B
      • 10213: History of Medicine
      • 10214: Medical Physiology 1B
      • 10215: Neuroscience
      • 10216: Health System- Intersession 2
      • 10217: Health System- Intersession 3
    6. Click Submit Changes
    7. Make sure you see all your courses under “Current Schedule”
    8. That’s it, you’re done!

Having difficulties?  Here are some common errors & tips:

  • Coreq error: Be sure you are submitting all of the CRNs at one time.  Also double-check that you’ve entered the CRNs correctly.
  • Can’t log in to the portal: See the email you received from Admissions for instructions.  Please reference that email to find your TouroOne ID number (starting with “T”).
  • Registration hold: Contact the office designated.  Once off hold, return to register.

2) Paying Tuition and Fees / Checking Financial Aid Status

  • Log in to the TouroOne Portal
  • Select the Financial Services tab
  • Select TouchNet 
  • Select View Activity under the line showing your balance
  • Select the term to view your charges, print a pdf of your billing activity or export your account into excel.  This is your bill; no other bill will be sent. 
  • Payment plan options are available for enrollment each term.  The deadline to enroll in the Summer payment plan is 7/11/20.  Late fees apply to unpaid accounts after 30 days. 
  • Look out for the email notice indicating that your financial aid award letter is available for you to accept or decline.
  • If you have accepted your financial aid it will be viewable in TouchNet within 3-4 days.

4) Update your biographical information in the TouroOne Portal 

Updating Address Information

  • Click Academic on the left blue sidebar
  • Click the View/Update Address and Phone link within the “My Records” section
  • Click the Update Addresses and Phones link at the bottom of the screen
  • Follow the detailed instructions at the top of the webpage

Updating Emergency Contact Information

  • Click Academic on the left blue sidebar
  • Click the View/Update Emergency Contacts link within the “My Records” section
  • Click the Update Emergency Contacts link at the bottom of the screen
  • Add a new contact or update an existing on and click Submit Change

Updating Ethnicity Information

  • Click Academic on the left blue sidebar
  • Click the View Student Information link within the “My Records” section
  • Click the Personal Information tab at the top of the screen
  • Click View Ethnicity and Race
  • If present data needs updating, click the Update Ethnicity and Race button
  • Choose from the options listed and click Continue, which will save your choice.

5) Prior Education Transcripts -The Registrar’s Office is required to have an official copy of the final transcript for each degree you previously earned.  These documents are not forwarded to us by AMCAS.  Please ensure NYMC has all of your final transcripts by mailing a sealed, official document to:
