New York Medical College Flower and Fifth Avenue Hospitals School of Nursing (1920* to 1960)

New York Medical College Flower and Fifth Avenue Hospitals School of Nursing offered a basic nursing program, which was three years in length and awarded a Diploma in Nursing. The Office of the Registrar holds Nursing records from 1920**–1960.  This program ended in 1960 (see the 1957-1961 Annual Announcement book). These records are in the form of transcripts only (official and unofficial) and may be requested by the student or by a third party (with a signed release).

New York Medical College Flower-Fifth Avenue Hospital Graduate School of Nursing (1961 to 1973) 

In September of 1961, New York Medical College Flower-Fifth Avenue Hospital opened a graduate nursing school, which awarded a Master of Science in Nursing (see the 1957-1961 Annual Announcement book). The Registrar’s Office holds Nursing records from 1961–1973.  This School offered programs of training in the selected clinical specialties for graduate nurses with college degrees. The basic nursing program was two years in length; the clinical specialty program ranged in length from one to two years, depending upon the area of clinical specialization selected. These records are in the form of transcripts only (official and unofficial) and may be requested by the student or by a third party (with a signed release).  

New York Medical College Nurse Anesthesia Certificate Program (1969-1986)

New York Medical College also had a Nurse Anesthesia Program from 1969-1986. It was a two-year program that granted a certificate to registered nurses to provide anesthesia services. These records are located at NYC Health + Hospitals/Metropolitan Hospital Center, 1901 First Avenue, Room 1215A, New York, NY 10029. We do not have any records for these students, therefore, any questions or requests should be directed to Metropolitan Hospital Center.
