Self-Study

Greetings Faculty, Students, Community Leaders, and Public Health Stakeholders:

As most of you know, the Master in Public Health (MPH) and the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) are accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). CEPH is the gold standard for accreditation, and we have been accredited since the early 2000s. It is a rigorous process, and we are proud of our ability to meet the guidelines of this organization.

CEPH’s policy is that every seven years the program must do a self-study. In this study, we assess how we are doing, where our strengths are, where our weaknesses are, along with data to support our findings. We submitted our self-study on January 27th. They will do a review and send back their thoughts no later than the end of March.  We then can respond to their comments in written format by May 27th. The site team will visit campus on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 28-29th.

CEPH requires us to notify our major constituents approximately three months before the visit that an accreditation review is scheduled and indicate that written third-party comments will be accepted by CEPH until 30 days before the on-site visit.

It is important that CEPH gets your feedback. We ask you to review the self-study and report your reaction to CEPH at submissions@ceph.org

You can access the self-study at this site:

https://touro.box.com/s/bstpivsq2n18ido3v39autzkqvdrj0wn

Once you enter the site there will be three folders:

  • ERF (Electronic Resource File)
  • Templates (templates required by CEPH)
  • Self Study and Other Documents

This last folder is the folder that contains the actual self-study. Enter that folder and you can review the self-study via PDF (NYMC CEPH Self Study 2022.pdf). Within the PDF there are links to materials within the ERF, the Templates, or the Self Study and Other Documents folders.  You are certainly welcome to review those should you desire.

Thanks for your support of the NYMC Public Health program.  Bookmark this web page because we will be posting updates and more details on the actual site visit.
