To the applicants:

Applicants interested in the Dermatology Residency program at New York Medical College (Metropolitan) should apply through the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS).

ERAS application complete with:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • USMLE Step I and II with minimum scores of 225
  • Step III must be completed by end of PGY2
  • Medical school transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Dean’s letter
  • At least three (3) letters of recommendation.

There are 2-3 Resident available spots per year. Applicants for the residency training program must be students at or graduates of approved medical schools in the United States or Canada, and must successfully complete a preliminary (PGY-1) year in one of the following programs: (transitional year, internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, emergency medicine or obstetrics and gynecology). We also accept applications from International Medical Graduates, but only if they have completed PGY-1 training in the US, and hold a current, valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

The deadline for completed applications is October 1st. Our Selection Committee will conduct a holistic review of completed applications and will issue invitations to interview by end of November. Applicants selected to interview will be contacted via ERAS Messenger.

Due to COVID-19, invited applicants will be offered a comprehensive interview via the video conferencing platform, Zoom. The interview will allow the applicant to meet individually with faculty members, residents and in the meeting room with other applicants if desired. The interviews will be held on Fridays, January 7th, January 14th and January 21st 2022.
