Residency Program

To the applicants:

Applicants interested in the Dermatology Residency program at New York Medical College (Metropolitan) should apply through the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS).

ERAS application complete with:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • USMLE Step I and II with minimum scores of 225
  • Medical school transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Dean’s letter
  • At least three (3) letters of recommendation.

There are 2-3 Resident available spots per year. Applicants for the residency training program must be students at or graduates of approved medical schools in the United States or Canada, and must successfully complete a preliminary (PGY-1) year in one of the following programs: (transitional year, internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, emergency medicine or obstetrics and gynecology) before being eligible to begin dermatology residency training (PGY-2). We also accept applications from International Medical Graduates, but only if they have completed PGY-1 training in the US, hold a current, valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

Our Faculty Committee will review completed applications and will issue invitations to interview early December. Applicants selected to interview will be contacted via ERAS Messenger. We conduct interviews during the month of January. The deadline for completed applications is November 1st.
