Residency Program

The New York Medical College Department of Family and Community Medicine sponsors the Family Medicine residency program at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Yonkers, the Family Medicine residency program in Phelps Memorial Hospital, in Sleepy Hollow, NY, the Family Medicine Residency Program at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ and the Family Medicine Residency Program at Hoboken University Medical Center, Hoboken, NJ. 

Our Residency Programs

Saint Joseph's Medical Center (Yonkers, NY) is a community hospital, affiliated with New York Medical College which has Family Medicine as a stand alone residency program. Residents are encouraged to build their own practice, with faculty supervision in the state of the art Thomas and Agnes Carvel Foundation Family Health Center.

Phelps Memorial Hospital Center and the Open Door Family Medical Center is in Sleepy Hollow, Westchester County, New York. Residents in this program will have a unique opportunity to develop their continuity practice in a nationally renowned, federally qualified health center, while taking advantage of the high quality, state-of-the-art facilities at Phelps. The first year class (2012) will help fashion the new program into a residency designed to train doctors to be the best primary care physicians of the future.

St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center (Paterson, NJ) - The Family Medicine Residency program at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center is a 36 months curriculum and is seamlessly integrated allowing physicians to fulfill the ACGME and family medicine board requirements. Centered on core lectures, the diverse and innovative curriculum is offered and supported by resident, faculty and guest lectures in the department and institutional grand rounds. We have daily morning conference, and the lectures given during our Wednesday morning academic sessions.

Hoboken University Medical Center - Center for Family Health program which provides compassionate, up to date health care services for the entire family, from birth to the senior years. The family medicine residency program proudly serves the Hoboken community. As an academic facility, our practice aims to provide care consistent with the latest medical evidence. We serve a socio-economically diverse population.
