Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery

Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery are provided for the management of movement disorders, especially parkinsonism. Subthalamic nucleus stimulation for treating patients with Parkinson’s disease is available. Pre-operative 3-D modeling is combined with an intra-operative real time image guidance system to optimize outcome in these procedures.

The movement disorders program is administered in close collaboration with the Neurology Department.
