Commission on Health and Health Care Disparities in OBGYN
The department of OBGYN values diversity and inclusion. We are committed to eliminating health and health care disparities in OBGYN. We are working to be a better residency program through anti-racism, inclusivity, and community engagement.
We have established a commission with joint membership including faculty, administration and residents to implement and sustain diversity efforts.
Our educational curriculum is aimed at training medical students, residents and faculty how to provide culturally competent, equitable, accessible, and high-quality care to all women. Here are some changes we have implemented for all residents and faculty:
-Implicit bias training
-Grand rounds speakers
-Health equity lectures
We have also developed an anti-racism research agenda, and are focused on enhancing our community involvement.
