Dr. Kapklein joined the residency program's leadership team when he came to Westchester Medical Center in 2002, and became program director in 2010. He is board-certified in pediatric critical care and pediatric emergency medicine, and works with residents in the PICU and the PED. His principal area of interest is clinical decision-making; he has implemented a clinical reasoning curriculum in our program. His hobbies include collecting rock and roll music (which can usually be heard emanating from his office) and long-distance cycling. He grew up in Brooklyn.
Caroline Moon, M.D., M.T.S., joined the Pediatric Residency Program leadership team as Associate Program Director in 2014. She is a general pediatrician with postgraduate training in religion and ethics from Harvard Divinity School. Her areas of interest include resident education, curriculum development, mentorship, and the role of culture and religion on patients' experience of illness. She is coordinator and preceptor at Greenburgh Health Center, one of our community primary care placement sites for residents; and also cares for patients at 40 Saw Mill River Road, Hawthorne, our affiliated faculty private practice. Dr. Moon includes Tae Kwon Do, tennis and adventure travel among her non-medical pursuits.
