Seeking Assistant Clerkship Director for Family Medicine
The Department of Family and Community Medicine at New York Medical College (NYMC) is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine physician to establish a new faculty practice and teach medical students as the Assistant Clerkship Director for Family Medicine. This is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in practice design, community health and medical student education.
This full-time position would be split equally between patient care and medical education. We have a 6-week clerkship in Family Medicine with over 200 students per year and a network of community preceptors distributed across the metropolitan area.
The Assistant Clerkship Director will develop and deliver educational curricula to third year medical students, participate in student assessment activities, recruit and develop community preceptors and participate in scholarly activity. Our brand new non-profit faculty practice is co-located with the dental clinic of Touro College of Dental Medicine and offers full-spectrum care to students, staff and the community. Inpatient care is provided by hospitalists at our affiliate Westchester Medical Center located on our beautiful campus in Valhalla, NY which is located just north of New York City with its many cultural attractions.
This is a wonderful opportunity to develop innovative clinical and educational programs to promote Family Medicine and offers great potential for leadership growth. We are committed to recruiting and supporting faculty who reflect the rich diversity of our community.
Academic appointment and salary are commensurate with experience.
