The Children's Heart Center performs cardiac stress testing on children of school age through young adulthood. During these tests, children's hearts are monitored to evaluate for rhythm disturbances and other symptoms during various levels of activity. Typically, the test involves running on a treadmill while ECG and blood pressure are monitored. These tests are useful to evaluate children with a history of arrhythmia or chest pain during exercise, or evaluating the heart's response to exercise after cardiac surgery.
