Dermatology Residency at Metropolitan

 

Applicants interested in the New York Medical College Dermatology Residency program at Metropolitan should apply through the Electronic Resident Application Service (ERAS).

ERAS application:

  • Curriculum vitae
  • USMLE, Step I pass and Step II pass with minimum scores of 225.
  • Step III must be completed by end of PGY-2
  • Medical school transcript
  • Personal statement
  • Dean’s letter
  • At least three (3) letters of recommendation, one of which must be from current program director if in an internship/residency program (PGY-1).

There are 2-3 Resident available spots per year. Applicants for the residency training program must be students at or graduates of approved medical schools in the United States or Canada and must successfully complete a preliminary (PGY-1) year in one of the following programs: (transitional year, internal medicine, family medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, emergency medicine or obstetrics and gynecology). We also accept applications from International Medical Graduates, but only if they have completed PGY-1 training in the US, and hold a current, valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).

The deadline for completed applications is November 1st. Our Selection Committee will conduct a holistic review of completed applications and will issue invitations to interview by mid-December. Applicants selected to interview will be contacted via ERAS Messenger.

Due to COVID-19, invited applicants will be offered a comprehensive interview via the video conferencing platform, Zoom. The interview will allow the applicant to meet individually with faculty members, residents and in the meeting room with other applicants if desired. The interviews will be held on Fridays, January 5th, January 12th, January 19th and January 26th, 2024.
