Assistant Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Radiology
Dr. Al-Mufti is one of the few triple-trained Neurologist, Neurointensivist, and Neuroendovascular Surgeons specializing in the surgical management of strokes, cerebral aneurysms and other cerebrovascular malformation.
Dr. Al-Mufti has over 100 research publications, abstracts, books chapters and has presented at numerous reputable scientific meetings. His research expertise is primarily in subarachnoid hemorrhage and acute ischemic stroke. He strives to synergize his clinical training and research interests; to gain in depth understanding of devastating neurological diseases and to improve patient outcomes by applying early identification of novel treatment targets while enabling innovations in precision medicine.
He is a recipient of the prestigious CNS/AANS Cerebrovascular Fellow’s Award by the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons as well as having been recent listed within Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors and Marquis Who's Who in Medicine. Dr. Al-Mufti is continually active in the Neurocritical care society and he hosts the monthly Neurocritical Care Society podcast, additionally he serves as the Chair of the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology’s Social Media and Digital Strategy Committee.
Working through wars for several years with Doctors without Borders afforded him the unique opportunity to treat a wide variety of patients under some of the direst situations. Few physicians are fortunate enough to have been exposed to this depth, breadth and sheer complexity of working under the stress of war. “I attribute my dedication to my patient's outcomes largely to my war experiences”.
