Dr. Yorg Al Azzi received his medical degree from Université Saint Joseph – Faculty of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon in 2009. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, NY. This was followed by a 2-year clinical fellowship in nephrology Mount Sinai at Icahn School of Medicine, NY and one year transplant nephrology fellowship at Columbia University in New York.
Al Azzi also served as Instructor of Medicine at Columbia University during his one year of transplant Nephrology fellowship . He is currently Assistant Professor of Medicine/Nephrology and Transplant Nephrology at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College. His research interests include post-kidney transplant infections and peritoneal dialysis. He is currently working on clinical research projects studying the effects of non-calcium phosphate binders on diabetes control in a hemodialysis population.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Al Azzi is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a Specialist in Transplant Nephrology.
