Professional Interests:
Dr. Ansehl ’s faculty appointment is in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences as Associate Professor. Associate Dean for Student Experience for the School of Health Sciences and Practice. Dr. Ansehl has been an employee of New York Medical College since 2000. She has considerable expertise working with communities to advance public health, and developing public health projects for student practica. She has demonstrated educational leadership in her community activities as a coalition leader and chairperson for Westchester County, the New York State Department of Health, the March of Dimes, the American Lung Association, the Hudson Valley Asthma Coalition, the United Way, and the Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester, Dutchess, Putnam, and the Bronx. Dr. Ansehl has developed sustainable grant-funded community programs that have both promoted and changed public health policy. She has developed and implemented many successful public health presentations, workshops, and conferences. In addition, she directs community outreach and education for the Children’s Environmental Health Center of the Hudson Valley. She is the chairman of the Board of Directors of Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester which also serves the Bronx, Dutchess, Rockland and Putnam Counties. She am a member of the Board of Directors for Hudson Valley Community Services which serves seven counties of the lower Hudson Valley region. Dr. Ansehl is the vice president of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) inaugural chapter at NYMC. Dr. Ansehl is a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine
