Clinical: all clinical conditions affecting the fetus and newborn, with particular interest in pulmonary conditions, and the variety of non-invasive and invasive modes of ventilation utilized to treat these conditions, including high-frequency jet ventilation, high frequency oscillatory ventilation and the VDR-4.
Research: translational investigations involving the genetic foundations of conditions affecting preterm infants, particularly bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) and patent ductus arteriosus (PDA). Also interested in genetic foundations of conditions that may make mothers susceptible to delivering prematurely.
Teaching: active in teaching neonatal fellows, pediatric residents, medical students, undergraduates, and high school students.
Administrative: active in a number of committees on campus, including the Faculty Senate, Professionalism and Integrity Committee, Second Year Advancement Committee; Credentials Committee, Critical Care Committee, Medical Operations Committee, and Pediatric Residency and Neonatal Fellowship Educational Committees.
Leadership: Associate Chief of the Regional NICU; Director, Pulmonary Medicine Section; Past President of New York Chapter 3 of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Undergraduate: University of California, Berkeley, CA-B.S. Chemistry; B.S. Genetics
Graduate: New York Medical College, Valhalla, NY-M.D.
Pediatric Internship: Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C.
Pediatric Residency: Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, L.A., CA
Pediatric Chief Residency: Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, L.A., CA
Fellowship: Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Pediatric Pulmonology, Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, L.A., CA; Mentor-Dr. David Warburton.
