Health Sciences Library Celebrates Faculty Authorship

The Health Sciences Library hosted the 24th annual Faculty Author Recognition event on October 24 to formally acknowledge faculty who published during the calendar year 2016. The event honored 383 published faculty members representing 605 journal articles, 3 books authored, 10 books edited, 61 book chapters and more. At the gathering, special recognition was given to individuals and departments for their efforts based on based on known citations and measurements. Michael S. Wolin, Ph.D., professor of physiology and chair of the Library and Academic Support Committee (LASCOM), accepted the award for the basic sciences department with the highest percentage of faculty publishing. He accepted the award on behalf of the Department of Physiology that boasted 75 percent of faculty members publishing, from Marie T. Ascher, M.S., M.P.H., the Lillian Hetrick Huber Endowed Director Health Sciences Library.
