HSL Hosts Talk on the Health of the First President

In conjunction with the exhibit, "Every Necessary Care and Attention - George Washington and Medicine," Marie T. Ascher, M.S., M.P.H., the Lillian Hetrick Huber Endowed Director Health Sciences Library, welcomed guest speaker Raymond E. Phillips, M.D., clinical associate professor of medicine, to a special presentation on August 9. Dr. Phillips painted a picture of health challenges and medical history in his presentation, "George Washington: A Profile of Health and Medical Care in the Colonial Ages." The exhibit is currently on display in the School of Health Sciences and Practice through August 21 and will be on display in Skyline Drive from August 22 through September 1. The exhibit was developed and produced by the National Library of Medicine, National Institute of Health with the Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens.
