The NYMC chapter of the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) honored Susan Rachlin, M.D., center, associate dean for student affairs, School of Medicine, advisory house dean and associate professor of clinical radiology, with the 2017 Gender Equity Faculty Award at a ceremony held on April 26 in the cafeteria. The annual award recognizes a faculty member for promoting a gender-fair environment for the education and training of women physicians, and to assure equal opportunities for women and men to study and practice medicine. NYMC AMWA co-presidents Roya Yavari, left, and Nam Lee, members of the School of Medicine Class of 2019, presented the award, calling Dr. Rachlin a "role model" and "inspiration" for her efforts to promote inclusion and gender equity at NYMC.
