NYMC Welcomes Ronald Matten, M.P.A., Associate Vice President of Facilities Management and Capital Planning

Ronald Matten, M.P.A., has joined the New York Medical College (NYMC) community as associate vice president of facilities management and capital planning, effective January 18.

Most recently Mr. Matten served as executive director of facilities management and planning of the City University of New York, responsible for four campuses in Manhattan. He also held the position of director of facilities for the Greenwich Public School system in Connecticut, the Ramaz School in New York City and other operational positions at educational institutions.

In his new role at NYMC, Mr. Matten will oversee approximately 30 staff members and the operations, maintenance and construction in and around the 25 buildings on campus. He will also serve as NYMC’s representative of facilities management to the Board of Trustees, state and local officials, as well as a member of the broader Touro College and University System senior facilities management team.

Mr. Matten will be responsible for the supply chain, competitive sourcing, procurement activities and manage the administration of preventive maintenance programs, outage responses, repairs, inspection programs and planned upgrades. He will also lead the College’s short and long-term capital planning initiatives.

Mr. Matten succeeds Sarah Cottet, executive director of facilities management and capital planning, a valued and respected member of the NYMC community since 2006 who is pursuing other career opportunities.
