Valhalla, N.Y. – On Sunday, October 14, 2018, New York Medical College (NYMC) will hold its Founder’s Dinner at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Tarrytown, N.Y. The annual fundraising event is expected to bring together over 300 academic, healthcare, business and community leaders, to celebrate NYMC’s proud history and promising future and to honor distinguished community leaders for their impactful and transformative achievements. Proceeds directly benefit NYMC students through supporting scholarships and important initiatives.
This year’s event will honor:
William C. Campbell, Ph.D., The William Cullen Bryant Award recipient. Dr. Campbell is the 2015 recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, who served as an adjunct professor of microbiology and immunology at NYMC for 25 years from 1985 to 2009.
Felix Wimpfheimer, M.D. ‘45, The Alfred B. DelBello Distinguished Service Award recipient. Escaping Nazi persecution, Dr. Wimpfheimer later graduated from NYMC in 1945 and has served his community with excellence through his work as an internist, endocrinologist and educator for over half a century.
Judith M. Watson, R.N., B.S.N., M.P.H. ’07, The Jackson E. Spears Community Service Award recipient. Ms. Watson graduated from NYMC in 2007 and is the executive director at the Greenburgh Health Center, where she spearheaded the 2005 merger of Greenburgh Health Center and the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center Network.
