Addressing Correctable Causes of Women’s Health and Disease
Reducing the burden of disease that disproportionately affects underserved and marginalized communities is a core mission of our Department. We recognize that health outcomes are deeply tied to socioeconomic status. Through research, education, and clinical care, and in partnership with community organizations, we work to improve access to healthcare and eliminate disparities in women’s health outcomes. We train our medical students clinical outcomes. We seek to make the future for women better than the present by training our medical students, residents, and faculty to provide compassionate and sensitive care to all. Our obstetrics-gynecology curriculum is focused on providing this level of care., residents, and faculty to provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to all women, with the goal of making the future better than the present.

Education
Our Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is committed to educational excellence across all levels of training. Our third-year Clerkship provides six weeks of immersive clinical experience in both obstetrics and gynecology across hospital and outpatient settings. Third and fourth-year students can further specialize through electives and a sub-internship, gaining hand-on exposure to the full breadth of women’s healthcare.
Our Simulation Training Program offers a comprehensive, four-year rotating curriculum in core obstetrics and gynecologic skills – continuously updated to reflect advances in the field.
The Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program at Westchester Medical Center offers a continuously evolving educational curriculum, heavily influenced by residents’ valuable input and guided by the educational objectives and core competencies established by the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology (CREOG). Research
Research is integral to our Department’s mission of advancing women’s health. Faculty work closely with students and residents in mentorship and career guidance, building professional relationships that extend well beyond training. Our NIH-funded faculty and American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology board examiners bring nationally recognition and scholarly rigor to our research enterprise.
Students and residents have opportunities to engage in research at any stage of their training – including a summer research fellowship – paired with faculty mentors who are subject-matter experts across our subspecialties.
