Sixth Annual NYMC Golf Tournament Drives Support for Future Health Care Leaders
NYMC Community Raises More Than $200,000 for Student Scholarships and College-Driven Initiatives
More than 150 attendees—including NYMC and Touro leadership, faculty, alumni, students, and supporters of the College—took to the teeing ground on June 15 for the sixth annual NYMC Golf Tournament and Reception.
Hosted at the historic Saint Andrew’s Golf Club, the NYMC community came together to enjoy a bright, breezy day in Hastings-on-Hudson. The event was sponsored by the NYMC Board of Advisors, who proudly raised more than $200,000 for student scholarships, health science research, and programs that advance NYMC’s mission to educate and empower future generations of health care professionals. Following the golf tournament, guests enjoyed a dinner reception and awards ceremony.
This year, in recognition of their exceptional support and commitment to NYMC, the College honored Patricia White, M.D., a member of the NYMC Board of Advisors, and Daniel Zelazny, M.D., assistant professor of orthopedic surgery, NYMC, Westchester Medical Center Advanced Physicians Services, and team physician, Marist University.
“It was a perfect day in every sense,” said Stacy Velarde, chief development officer in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. “Not only did we enjoy beautiful weather for the sixth annual tournament, but we also witnessed the remarkable generosity of our 150 attendees from our community, alumni, and sponsors. Raising more than $200,000 is a testament to their dedication and belief in our mission, and we couldn't be more thankful for their support.”
