School of Medicine

The NYMC School of Medicine (SOM) is one of the oldest and largest medical schools in the United States, dating back to its founding in 1860. Established by a group of civic leaders focused on training doctors to provide compassionate – as well as competent – medical care, the School of Medicine has grown in size and reputation. Today, we enroll more than 800 students and offer the following degrees: M.D., M.D./M.P.H. and M.D./Ph.D.

The Professionalism Accolades and Incidents Reporting (P.A.I.R.) supports our efforts to maintain a respectful learning environment by providing a means to submit accolades (recognizing individuals who demonstrate outstanding professionalism or service on behalf of others) or report incidents (of mistreatment/harassment or lapses in professionalism).
