Our educational philosophy prioritizes emotionally connected patient care and prepares our students for this approach from their first day. Students experience frequent face-to-face interaction with patients in real life clinical settings ranging from local primary care medical practices during the Foundations of Clinical Medicine Course and clinical clerkships at affiliated hospital sites to La Casita de la Salud, a student-run clinic in the East Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan, as well as with a standardized patient pool in our Clinical Skills and Simulation Center. These hands-on experiences equip our students with strong interpersonal and clinical foundations upon which to build their careers.
