Faculty Development

The goal of the SOM Faculty Development Office is to provide programs and resources that allow SOM and GSBMS faculty to build professional skills and knowledge in scholarship and education, to promote mentorship and collaboration, and to reward and recognize faculty commitment to and excellence in education. Furthermore, the SOM Faculty Development aims to engage faculty on an ongoing basis to ensure programs and resources are applicable to faculty needs. The Office supports faculty as they create an optimal learning environmentfor their learners and continually cultivate their deep pedagogical knowledge.

The mission of the Office is to support career and professional development of its School of Medicine faculty at all levels including teaching, research, service and clinical practice. In service of this mission, the Faculty Development website -- available to all faculty and residents -- houses information about a variety of curated learning opportunities, which include workshops, conferences, podcasts, videos and suggested readings, as well as the opportunity to schedule a consultation. For further information or access to the faculty development website, contact Monica Glina, Ed.D., assistant dean for faculty development.
