SOM Student Life

Student life at the School of Medicine (SOM) aims to balance the rigors of study and practice with a comforting atmosphere, supportive culture, and a rich mix of activities and experiences that will make your time as a student here memorable for the rest of your life. We offer a wide range of opportunities to get involved with the local community, join student organizations and participate in campus and local events, as well as dine well, stay fit and have fun. We encourage students to get fully involved in the community – both for their own benefit and for the benefit of the School of Medicine at large. The SOM provides research opportunities as well; they can be found on the SOM Student Research Opportunities page.

Office of Medical Student Affairs

The Office of Medical Student Affairs in the School of Medicine (SOM) provides a great many resources and services. Deans are always available by appointment. Deans monitor their e-mail frequently and encourage dialogue by this medium as well.

Students who wish to speak with a team member have the option to:

  • Email MSA Staff to reach a member of the staff.
  • Email MSA Dean for confidential matters and a direct response from a dean.
  • Call (914) 594-4498 during business hours.
