Match Day

 Match Day is an annual rite of passage for U.S. medical school students and other applicants, a day when they learn at which U.S. residency programs they will train for the next three to seven years. The National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) announces the Main Residency Match® results for more than 44,950 applicants submitted program choices for 37,256 positions, the most ever offered in the Match. The number of available first-year (PGY-1) positions rose to 34,266, an increase of 2,072 (6.4%) over 2019. The increase in positions was due, in part, to the last migration of osteopathic program positions into the Main Residency Match.

Every year, moments before noon on Match Day, New York Medical College campus is usually packed with a boisterous crowd eagerly waiting to find out where the next graduating class of the NYMC School of Medicine would continue their medical training. This year, due to the COVID-19, NYMC held a virtual Match Day event.  See the notice below.
