Elizabeth Berry, Ph.D. '23, completed her Ph.D. in Dr. Christopher Leonard’s lab at New York Medical College. Her recent research focuses on the impact of opioid addiction on the intrinsic electrical properties of orexin neurons located in the hypothalamus, studying how the reward system of the brain is altered by drugs of abuse generates results that pave the way for generating new therapeutics.
