Giana DiMaria is a registered dietitian who has expanded her knowledge of nutrition in a multitude of ways. As a relief clinical dietitian at Westchester Medical Center, who has been recognized with an award for clinical excellence, she provides individualized, nutritional care to adult and pediatric patients across a variety of clinical units, including but not limited to: critical care, cardiology, surgery, transplant, trauma, gastroenterology, oncology. In addition to her inpatient responsibilities, Giana has experience in outpatient nutrition counseling, where she helps individuals make sustainable, nutrition-focused lifestyle changes.
More recently, Giana has earned her certification as a Culinary Medicine Specialist (CCMS). Completing the CCMS course has given her the opportunity to take her career into an exciting new direction that allows for the fusion of cooking and medical nutrition therapy. This fusion of health promotion and culinary skills also helps her reach a broader audience, including the provision of nutrition education to school-aged children at the YMCA.
