Board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Dr. Sharifa Menon brings nearly two decades of academic and clinical experience to her role as an educator, mentor, and surgeon.

At Westchester Medical Center (WMC), Dr. Menon serves as section chief of the Generalist Division, overseeing faculty clinical operations and quality initiatives. As an assistant residency program director for obstetrics and gynecology at WMC, she also contributes significantly to residency program administration, including recruitment efforts, clinical evaluations, teaching, wellness programs, and mentorship. Her dedication to medical education has been recognized through multiple teaching awards, including the ACOG National Faculty Award and Best Teaching Faculty honors from both WMC and the Icahn School of Medicine, where she previously played an integral role in resident education and curriculum development.

Dr. Menon’s clinical interests include benign gynecologic surgery, advanced laparoscopy, obstetrics, and comprehensive women’s health. She has participated in clinical research on lifestyle interventions in pregnancy and has presented her work at regional and national conferences. She is actively involved in inclusive excellence efforts and contributes to departmental quality and safety initiatives.

Dr. Menon is a member of several professional societies, including ACOG (American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists), the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, and the Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology.
