Prabhakar Putheti, Ph.D., has held multiple leadership roles within the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI), including chair of the Education Committee, Regional Education Workshops, and Bylaws Committee. He currently serves as a commissioner of accreditation and as an ASHI inspector, influencing national standards for HLA laboratories and contributing to the continuous improvement of testing quality and education. 

Prior to joining NYMC, Dr. Putheti contributed to the immunology, microbiology, and pathology curriculum at Harvard Medical School, reinforcing his long-standing dedication to medical education. Through his professional society work, Dr. Putheti has helped shape policies, training programs, and ethical frameworks that affect laboratory practice nationwide. His contributions represent a true commitment to societal advancement through clinical science.
