Susan Rachlin, M.D., FACR, began her career at NYMC and Westchester Medical Center (WMC) in 1995 and held various titles in the Department of Radiology, including program director and vice chairman for education.
Possessing a strong passion for teaching, in 2013, Dr. Rachlin joined the Office of Student Affairs full-time as an associate dean. She runs the Radiology and Diagnostic Medicine Clerkship in Year 4 and has been awarded the Excellence in Teaching and Mentorship award yearly at graduation. Dr. Rachlin is also a member of the College’s elite ranks of the Robert Goldstein, M.D., Society, a privilege reserved for faculty members who have been honored with Excellence in Teaching Awards for more than 10 years.
Dr. Rachlin has been recognized by her alma mater, SUNY Downstate, for her outstanding achievements and contributions to medicine, as well as with the Master Teacher Award in Radiology. Dr. Rachlin is the recipient of the prestigious Leonard Tow Humanism Award in recognition of her humanistic, compassionate approach to medicine and teaching.
As she looks back on her distinguished career in academic radiology, which includes caring for a countless patients, having her students recognize her devotion to their education and future careers at NYMC is still her greatest source of pride.
