Robin Saide, LCSW-R, is a licensed clinical social worker, educator, and mental health leader with over 20 years of experience in higher education, health care, research, and nonprofit sectors. She oversees the Office of Student Mental Health and Wellness and has led impactful wellness initiatives, including the development of a campus safety and mental health app, a peer-led wellness ambassador program, and created a therapeutic relaxation space. Among her many responsibilities, she manages the clinical operations, crisis response, and the MSW internship training.
With more than 20 years of clinical experience, Ms. Saide is trained in multiple therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, with techniques like problem-solving therapy and behavioral activation, and supportive psychotherapy. Her practice spans all developmental stages from young adults to older adults, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, and chronic illness. She also provides training and education to faculty, staff, and external medical institutions.
Ms. Saide’s clinical practice and research focuses on evidence-based therapies for individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and chronic illness, particularly in oncology and older adult populations. She serves as a therapist and researcher in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Ms. Saide has held leadership roles in non-profit organizations including as the director of the Patient Service Center for the Eastern Division of the American Cancer Society, director of the Women’s Cancer Program at CancerCare, and director of the Susan G. Komen Help Line (concurrently). She also served as an advanced clinician in the Adult Medicine Service and the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit of New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Additionally, Ms. Saide was a clinician and member of the Victim Services Team in the emergency department at Beth Israel Medical Center in Manhattan and as a senior social worker at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Hospice Program.
Ms. Saide is a frequent speaker and trainer on topics such as cognitive behavioral approaches to thought management, stress and wellness in medical education, suicide risk assessment, effective communication, feedback delivery, and navigating resistance in clinical and academic settings. She has presented to diverse audiences including medical students, faculty, senior leadership, and health care professionals.
