Brian Nickerson, Ph.D., J.D., M.P.A., FACHE, is Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Practice at New York Medical College and a professor with extensive experience in academic leadership, graduate health sciences education, public health, healthcare management, translational science, and biomedical innovation. He previously served in senior leadership roles at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, including Senior Associate Dean for Master’s Degree Programs, Director of the Master of Health Administration Program, Evaluation Lead for ConduITS, Mount Sinai’s NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Award hub, and co-Principal Investigator for Mount Sinai’s NSF I-Corps commercialization training program.

Dr. Nickerson’s work has focused on expanding and strengthening graduate health sciences programs, developing innovative curricula, supporting interdisciplinary research training, advancing healthcare leadership education, and building partnerships across academic medicine, public health, and the biomedical innovation ecosystem. His background also includes prior service as a dean and provost, as well as professional experience in law, mediation, healthcare administration, and translational entrepreneurship.
