The Division of Adolescent Medicine at New York Medical College (NYMC) provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient consultation and management for adolescents and young adults. The Adolescent Medicine providers are physicians and nurse practitioners with advanced, specialized training in the physical, emotional, and developmental needs unique to this age group.
The Division delivers holistic, age‑appropriate care that addresses the full spectrum of adolescent and young adult health concerns, including:
- Reproductive and sexual health: menstrual disorders, contraceptive counseling and provision, and evaluation and treatment of sexually transmitted infections.
- Mental health: assessment and management of anxiety, depression, obsessive‑compulsive disorder, and other common conditions.
- Eating disorders: comprehensive evaluation, medical stabilization, inpatient and outpatient treatment, and family‑centered care.
- Substance use: developmentally appropriate counseling and treatment services.
Physicians work closely within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with mental health professionals, nutritionists, and subspecialists to ensure integrated, patient‑centered, and confidential care. The Division is deeply committed to excellence in teaching, clinical care, and adolescent health advocacy.
The Faculty Practice of the Division of Adolescent Medicine is part of Boston Children’s Health Physicians (BCHP), a proud member of the Boston Children’s Hospital Community of Care. BCHP includes the faculty of the Department of Pediatrics at NYMC as well as more than 300 primary care providers across the region, offering our patients access to a broad network of high‑quality pediatric services.
