Robert Goldstein, M.D., joined the College faculty in 1961 and served as chairman of the Department of Medicine from 1969 until 1976. Although he retired in 1985, he continued serving on numerous committees until 2002. Dr. Goldstein’s true fervor was his dedication to the medical students he served. Students dedicated the yearbook to Dr. Goldstein five times, and in 1993 the graduating class established the Robert Goldstein, M.D., Society of Teachers Award to recognize exceptional and inspiring faculty members.

Robert Goldstein, M.D., professor emeritus of medicine and former associate dean for student affairs, died on April 27, 2012 at the age of 99.
