“I am thrilled that Dr. Blanco has assumed the position of Director of Clinical Education. With a doctorate degree in the field of speech-language pathology, her expertise will be extremely advantageous for our students,” said Vikas Grover, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, chief, division of speech-language pathology.

Dr. Blanco has evaluated and treated medically complex patients across the lifespan with various speech, language, feeding and communication difficulties. She has worked for over 10 years at a pediatric specialty hospital and has experience in a variety of workplace settings, including schools, clinics and private practices. In 2018, she accepted an adjunct professor position with NYMC.

Dr. Blanco has participated in numerous research studies. Her most recent study for Nova Southeastern University analyzed the effect of distance coaching on speech-language pathologists’ use of evidence-based augmentative and alternative communication implementation strategies.

A 2010 graduate of the Master of Science program in SLP at NYMC, Dr. Blanco went on to earn her doctorate of speech-language pathology from Nova Southeastern University in 2020. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marist in 2008.
