Jennifer RiekertJennifer Riekert, M.B.A.‌
Vice President of Communications and Strategic Initiatives

‌Jennifer Riekert, M.B.A., leads all marketing and communications strategy and execution for NYMC, including College branding, public relations, integrated marketing plans, internal and external communications, print and electronic publications, the website, NYMC events as well as social networking and media relations. With over 15 years of experience in a university setting, Ms. Riekert is uniquely attuned to the communication needs of higher education and brings marketing vision and best practices to all relevant College endeavors.

Ms. Riekert began her career at Pace Law School where she served as Director of Marketing and Communications, and as Interim Assistant Vice President of University Relations for Pace University.

Ms. Riekert earned both her bachelor’s degree in Psychology as well as her master of business administration degree at Albany, State University of New York, Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. Riekert joined NYMC in 2014.


Kevin R. Cummings, M.P.S., M.P.H. '00
Director of Web Communications

Kevin R. Cummings, M.P.S., M.P.H., oversees web communications and is responsible for providing useful, accessible and integrated information on the expansive site while maintaining a consistent institutional identity. In this role, Mr. Cummings develops communication strategies, policies and standards related to electronic interactions among NYMC’s affiliate hospitals, teaching affiliates, physicians and faculty, staff, students and the general public. In addition, Mr. Cummings serves on several NYMC committees including the Research Improvement Subcommittee; LCME Accreditation Resource Subcommittee, Library and Academic Support Committee, SOM Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) Committee and the Commencement Committee. 

Mr. Cummings has a Bachelor of Science in Bacteriology and Health Sciences from Wagner College, a Master of Professional Studies in Health Services Administration from The New School, a Master of Public Health in General Public Health and an Advanced Certificate in Emergency Preparedness from New York Medical College. He joined NYMC in 1995 as director of research information and development in the Office of Research Administration prior to assuming the responsibilities of director of web communications in 2000.


Ali Jackson-Jolley, M.B.A.
Communications Specialist

In her role as Communications Specialist, Ali Jackson-Jolley, M.B.A., creates and edits the content for NYMC’s newsletters, alumni magazine, website, and press releases—ensuring that all messaging is relevant, engaging, and consistent with NYMC’s brand. Ali joined the Public Relations team in January 2018, bringing over a decade of experience in branding and journalism; before joining the team, she worked as a freelance journalist, specializing in health & wellness and business journalism. She also previously worked as a Brand Manager for the consumer products company, Rich-SeaPak.


Lorena Minnerly, M.A.
Communications Coordinator

Lorena Minnerly joined the Office of Public Relations team in September 2017 as the Communications Coordinator for New York Medical College and the School of Health Sciences and Practice.

Public Information Editor

LoriAnn Perrault serves as the Public Information Editor for New York Medical College. Suggestions for story ideas are always welcome for InTouch Archive, the online newsletter of the New York Medical College community. Stories can be about research, curriculum or programs of study, unique or interesting personal achievements, growing trends or patient care with an academic angle. Madlena Pesheva
Project Manager

Madlena Pesheva serves as the Project Manager for the Office of Public Relations, bringing several years of experience in marketing, event management, and administrative duties to the role. Prior to joining NYMC in 2015, Ms. Pesheva was the Marketing and Membership Associate for the YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester. Ms. Pesheva earned her bachelor's degree from the University of New Hampshire, with a dual major in International Affairs and Recreation Management and Policy, with a minor in Psychology.


Julio A. Rodriguez-Rentas, M.A.
Director of Communications

Julio A. Rodriguez-Rentas, M.A., manages the strategic development and maintenance of NYMC.edu—including the recent relaunch of the website—as well as integrated marketing initiatives for the department, both online and offline. With a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a master's degree in Media Communication and as a current professor of communications at the State University of New York–Westchester Community College and Iona College, Mr. Rodriguez-Rentas brings a 360◦ perspective to his role. Mr. Rodriguez-Rentas joined NYMC in 2014, coming to the College from Pace University, where he served first as webmaster at Pace Law School before becoming Senior Courseware Designer for the University.
