Clinical Training Curriculum

   Rehab Medicine Training Curriculum

Three residents are recruited each year and enter at the PGY-2 level after having completed a preliminary year in internal medicine, family medicine or surgery.

PGY-2

  • General Inpatient Rehabilitation – 8 months
  • Outpatient MSK Clinic – 4 months
  • Wheelchair Evaluation Clinic – Twice monthly

PGY-3

  • Outpatient MSK / EMG/ Prosthetics/ Orthotics Clinic – 3 months
  • Outpatient Spine Procedures / EMG Clinic – 1 month (Hudson Valley VA / Castle Point)
  • Pediatric Rehabilitation – 2 months (Blythedale Children's Hospital)
  • General Inpatient Rehabilitation – 1 month
  • Traumatic Brain Injury Unit - 3 months (Bellevue Hospital)
  • TBI Clinic and Consult Service – 1 month (Bellevue Hospital)
  • Sports Medicine Clinic – 1 month
  • Pain Management / Spine Procedures Clinic – 4 sessions (Coney Island Hospital)

PGY-4

  • Outpatient Spine Procedures / EMG Clinic – 2 months (Hudson Valley VA / Castle Point)
  • Electrodiagnostic Medicine – 4 months
  • SCI Rehabilitation – 2 months (James J. Peters VA Hospital)
  • Consult Service – 3 months
  • Elective – 1 month
  • Pain Management / Spine Procedures Clinic – 4 sessions (Coney Island Hospital)
