Amy Ansehl, B.S.N., M.S.N., D.N.P., R.N., FNP-BC, has developed a public health applied practice experience course that has utilized more than 700 sites locally, nationally, and internationally where students have applied the knowledge and skills, they have learned in their course work. She presented the course at the American Public Health Association National Conference.

Dr. Ansehl leads the community outreach and education for the Children’s Environmental Health Center of the Hudson Valley (CEHCHV), a center of excellence in the Institute of Public Health at NYMC SHSP. 

In addition, she has been appointed a liaison to the United Nations Academic Impact for Sustainable Development Goal 3 Hub at NYMC SHSP. Dr. Ansehl is the chair of the board of directors for the Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess and the Bronx Foundation. She also serves on the board of directors of Hospice of Westchester, Westchester Community College Foundation and the Cornerstone Family Health Center which is a federally funded community health center. Dr. Ansehl has received numerous awards for her community health promotion work and leadership in education from Columbia University School of Nursing, New York Medical College, the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, Visiting Nurse Services. She is a fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine.
