Ashley O'Rourke, Ed.D., CCC-SLP, TSSLD is an educator, academic leader, and licensed speech-language pathologist with more than a decade of experience in higher education and clinical practice serving complex communicators in high-need settings. As a first-generation college graduate, she is passionate about expanding educational opportunity and preparing future speech-language pathologists to combine clinical excellence with advocacy for individuals whose voices are too often unheard.
Prior to joining New York Medical College, Dr. O'Rourke held academic leadership roles as Program Director, Clinic Director, and Assistant Dean for the School of Health and Natural Sciences. She has taught graduate courses in pediatric feeding disorders, autism spectrum disorders, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and professional issues while leading initiatives in accreditation, curriculum development, and interprofessional education.
Dr. O'Rourke's research interests include interprofessional education, pediatric feeding, AAC, and supporting the infant-parent dyad affected by neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome. She has presented nationally, served as an invited speaker for schools and community organizations throughout the New York metropolitan area, and served on several medical missions to China, Morocco, and Guatemala.
